A good mood and a longing to meet again characterised Elmia Wood 2022 with its many satisfied visitors and exhibitors. Nearly 26,000 visitors walked determinedly around the trail that took them to over 270 exhibitors from 22 different countries.
400 meetings over the course of four days. Close to 300 suppliers and 70 buyers from 26 countries. These are the figures that made up Elmia Subcontractor Connect, which ended on 13th November.
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus), and the consequences for the trade show industry, Elmia is moving the tradeshows Elmia Lastbil and VA-mässan, to 2022.
Elmia Wood is one of the most prominent forestry venues in the world. Due to the impact on travel and public gatherings following the Corona pandemic, Elmia AB has decided to move Elmia Wood to 2-4 June 2022.
As the economic indicators turn negative, the industry is taking aim at the future. That’s the clear impression summing up this year’s Elmia Subcontractor. For four days the fair has hosted meetings and business dealings, world-class innovations, lectures to a capacity crowd and debates with a focus on tomorrow.
It provides an overview of performance, transmits data in real time and detects faults – even before they occur. SKF’s new sensor bearing units for load measurement will be on show for the first time in Sweden at Elmia Subcontractor’s IoT Arena.
Light waves and gentle colors – that is the core of the upgraded brand of the Swedish trade-show organizer – Elmia. Both color and shape refer to Elmia's history as well as the future. “Green Tech”-technologies that enable a more efficient and thus sustainable utilization of earthly resources.
Through the newly established Elmia Spark Award, Elmia and Fairlink want to drive exhibitors and visitors return on event (ROE) to new heights. Now Jason Popp, at GES, agreed to join the jury. With more than 90 years and the most comprehensive breadth of services and technology, GES bring brands and customers closer together through events, exhibits and exhibitions.
The most successful and innovative Elmia exhibitors will from now on be rewarded. Through the newly established Exhibitor of the Year Awards, Elmia and Fairlink want to drive exhibitors and visitors return on event (ROE) to new heights.
Jönköping City Council gave the green light for Elmia’s planned development of its facilities. The first shovel will be put in the ground next autumn and the new exhibition hall of 10,000 square metres is scheduled for completion by 2021.
Is building a high-speed rail line in Sweden the solution to every problem? That somewhat pointed question was discussed at the key seminar “High-speed railways – do they solve the problems?” The panel’s answer? They don’t solve everything but they help a lot.
A good safety barrier can save lives. During Elmia Nordic Road you have the chance to watch unique crash tests live – right on the fairgrounds. “The maintenance of Sweden’s road safety barriers is in a neglected state,” says Anders Hamrin, sales manager at Nordic Road Safety.
Elmia Wood has been the world’s leading forestry fair for many years. Decision makers from around the world come here to experience the latest technology in use. This time the fair will be bigger and broader than ever. Three new sections welcome visitors. The biggest of these is Load & Transport with its theme of forest roads, logistics and timber handling.
For many people a chain will be the most important new product at Elmia Wood. Specifically, the newly developed X-CUT saw chain from Husqvarna. The Husqvarna X-CUT SP33G was presented last autumn in some markets, including Sweden. But everyone else will see it for the first time at the world’s largest forestry fair and Husqvarna is preparing for many questions.
Jakob Hirsmark will become the new manager of Elmia’s forestry fairs. They include the world’s biggest international forestry fair, Elmia Wood, which is held every fourth year in the forests south of Jönköping, Sweden. Jakob Hirsmark will take up his new post in February.
Nine companies and organisations are jointly showcasing Swedish innovation power at the global Agritechnica fair on 8-14 November. Elmia is one of them and the joint initiative goes under the name Swedish Innovation Power. The message is that Sweden is a highly fertile breeding-ground for green innovations, one that has created many export successes over the years
Komatsu Forest has long been number two in terms of forest machine sales in Sweden. But in 2014 the company overtook market leader John Deere, according to the registration certificates issued for new forwarders by the Swedish Transport Agency.
