Press release -

Pressinvitation to Elmia Subcontractor 12-15 nov 2019

Coming megatrends. The rapid development of new technologies. A changing global market. As Scandinavia’s biggest event for the manufacturing industry, Elmia Subcontractor directs the pace towards a strong future. Welcome to an encounter with the industry and its future!

New technologies, vehicle electrification, connected factories and disruptive materials. Developments in the subcontracting industry are happening faster than ever, and the list of new requirements, challenges and opportunities faced by the companies involved is long. In keeping with its motto of “Business unusual”, Elmia Subcontractor takes a comprehensive grasp of the industry’s current situation and future.

“No one can have missed the fact that the pace of development within the manufacturing industry has never been faster than it is now,” says Gabriella Banehag, fair manager of Elmia Subcontractor. She cites the automotive industry as one example.

“It’s undergoing the transformation to a totally new energy source, which is affecting the entire supply chain. That change – involving new suppliers, new components and connected supply chains – is very clear at this year’s fair, both at the exhibition stands and in our stage programme.”

To give an overall view of what is happening in all sectors of the manufacturing industry and to inspire further development, several specific arenas have been set up inside the exhibition halls.

- Subcontractor InnoDex presents innovations in materials and designs from around the world, this year focusing on disruptive materials. This is complemented by speeches and discussions on the arena’s own stage.

- IoT Arena exhibits real-life cases of smart connected solutions within the industry. A number of the companies behind the projects are participating in discussions on the arena’s stage, and the suppliers involved are exhibiting in the surrounding stands.

- The fair’s news studio Subcontractor Direct has a packed stage programme every day, with discussions and debates on the industry’s hottest topics. Volkswagen, Scania, Husqvarna, Volvo and Veoneer are some of the companies present.

- Pop-Up Expo is a mini-exhibition of new, smart suppliers (Tues-Weds) who are also participating in the matchmaking event Subcontractor Connect. This exciting segment broadens the fair’s offering and is of great interest to purchasing companies.

Once again, welcome. To business unusual.
