Press Invitation: Welcome to three heavy-duty transport fairs!

On 6-8 October, the transport industry will gather for three important days at Elmia in Jönköping, Sweden to focus on the winning transport solutions of the future. Three days of innovations, discussions and debate about transport systems, railways and roads – everything related to infrastructure, future transport and intermodal solutions.

No fewer than 100 different seminars will be held over the three days with experts, industry representatives and politicians discussing the hottest issues of the moment. Anders Wijkman, Chairman of Sweden’s All Party Committee on Environmental Objectives, will be talking about the climate perspective of future transport, Gunnar Alexandersson, who is leading the Swedish government’s inquiry into the organisation of the railway, will be talking about the inquiry’s work to date and the most important issues ahead of the final report on 23 December, and Henk van Dieren, CEO of Samskip Van Dieren, the successful European transport company, will be talking about strategies for sustainable transport systems in Europe. Moreover Lena Erixon, the newly appointed Director-General of the Swedish Transport Administration, will be making her first public appearance for the industry.

Also, don’t miss the presentation of the industry’s most prestigious award – the Future Transport Award. Three finalists will compete in each of three categories: Public Transport, Intermodal Goods and Road Security. The nine finalists will also be talking about their smart solutions at their own seminars, and the award will be presented at the transport industry’s big Gala Evening on Wednesday 7 October.
