Elmia and DLG are starting a joint venture to establish a forestry fair in Romania. Forest Romania will exhibit machines and technology in operation and will be held for the first time 16 – 18 Sept 2015. Elmia organises the world’s leading forestry fair, Elmia Wood. DLG in Germany organises the world’s leading agricultural fair, Agritechnica, plus other agricultural fairs in several countries.
Elmia Subcontractor 2014 was characterised by a positive atmosphere all round plus masses of productive meetings. Many significant deals were made at the fair, including many between the exhibitors themselves. “The fact that business meetings are held throughout the entire supply chain gives the fair a very special dynamism,” says the fair’s project manager Karla Eklund.
The huge Russian car manufacturer AvtoVAZ is undergoing a total transformation. Swedish purchasing director Erik Barenthein is one of the people leading that work. He will be at Elmia Subcontractor to describe the AvtoVAZ of the future and to seek new suppliers.
An entire team from the American electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors will be at Elmia Subcontractor next week. “Right now we’re probably the world’s fastest growing vehicle manufacturer and we need many new suppliers,” says the head of the company’s Scandinavian operations, Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen.
A 3D printer that can print out two materials at the same time, bioplastic made of crab shell, and 4D printing. Innovation guru Dr. Sascha Peters is back with new material innovations handpicked for the Swedish manufacturing industry.
The main speakers at Elmia Subcontractors’ conference Additive Manufacturing – State of the Industry are now booked. Some of the world’s most prestigious experts in the field will attend the fair to give their view on the future of 3D printing and the opportunities it offers.
Terry Wohlers, the world’s leading authority on 3D printing and additive manufacturing, is coming to Elmia Subcontractor in November. He will be the keynote speaker at the conference on the topic and share his expertise. “Huge investments are being made into additive manufacturing all over the world,” he says.
Elmia Automation ended on Friday. It was a fair that together with the industry aimed to reinforce Sweden’s manufacturing industry. “This was the most comprehensive automation fair for the manufacturing industry that’s ever been arranged in Sweden,” says project manager Lina Kåvestam.
Elmia Welding & Joining Technology has established itself as the industry’s leading trade fair in Sweden. On Friday the fair closed after four days with a high tempo in the exhibition hall. “It’s clear that there is a great need for an industry fair that focuses on welding and joining technology, and the format is here to stay,” says Lina Kåvestam, the fair’s project manager.
